Local Fianna Fail TD, Frank O’Rourke, has been informed that works to install traffic lights at the junction of Meadowbrook Link Road and the Straffan Road will commence shortly.
“Traffic lights, with safe crossing facilities for pedestrians and cyclists, will be installed at the junction of Meadowbrook Link Road and the Straffan Road. Works are to commence shortly.”
“I have asked Kildare County Council, the National Transport Authority (NTA) and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to assess the overall traffic management issues along the Straffan Road, including the traffic exiting the Maynooth Business Park. Traffic volumes are increasing at these junctions and we need to see if we can alleviate the situation.”
“Earlier this year the Department of Local Government confirmed to me that funds have been allocated to enable the construction of a section of the Maynooth Ring Road linking the old Dublin Road to the Celbridge Road.”
“I welcome that works will commence shortly at the Meadowbrook Link Road/Straffan Road junction and this will assist traffic entering Straffan Road from the Meadowbrook Link Road,” concluded Deputy O’Rourke.
