The taking-in-charge process will be commencing for Wolstan Abbey in Celbidge. It will be advertised early in 2015 along with a number of Estates and this starts the statuary process to be taken-in-charge by Kildare County Council. Their will still be a section of the Estate under a management company. The taking-in-charge process should be completed withing three months after the Estate is advertised in the local media. Once completed K.C.C will be responsible for roads, footpaths, street lighting etc. while Irish Water will have responsibility for water and waste water services.
This is great news for all the Residents and the Residents Association which I have worked closely with for some time on this issue and other issues within the Estate. The other issues which I have worked with the Residents Association on and are now completed are the replacement of Street Light heads, resolving blockages in surface and fowl sewers and assisting in having signs erected within the Estate. I am working to deliver the Pedestrian Crossing in 2015 on the Hazelhatch Road close to Wolstan Abbey which will improve road safety for all. I want to thank the Residents and Residents Association for engaging with me on these issue and well done to the Wolstan Abbey R.A for their great work.

I was delighted to attend the Kildare Entrepreneur awards as Deputy Mayor and to make the presentations. Kildare has great talent and this competition organised by the local enterprise office allows this talent to be promoted and showcased. Their is a direct link with Entrepreneur’s and job creation which leads to foreign direct investment.
