Wolstan Abbey taking-in-charge process commences

_MG_3053_3526

The taking-in-charge process will be commencing for Wolstan Abbey in Celbidge. It will be advertised early in 2015 along with a number of Estates and this starts the statuary process to be taken-in-charge by Kildare County Council. Their will still be a section of the Estate under a management company. The taking-in-charge process should be completed withing three months after the Estate is advertised in the local media. Once completed K.C.C will be responsible for roads, footpaths, street lighting etc. while Irish Water will have responsibility for water and waste water services.

This is great news for all the Residents and the Residents Association which I have worked closely with for some time on this issue and other issues within the Estate. The other issues which I have worked with the Residents Association on and are now completed are the replacement of Street Light heads, resolving blockages in surface and fowl sewers and assisting in having signs erected within the Estate. I am working to deliver the Pedestrian Crossing in 2015 on the Hazelhatch Road close to Wolstan Abbey which will improve road safety for all. I want to thank the Residents and Residents Association for engaging with me on these issue and well done to the Wolstan Abbey R.A for their great work.

I am delighted as a member of the CBA sub-committee to have worked on delivering the Celbridge 2015 calendar. This is the third year we have done this project and it has been a great success. It promotes Celbridge by displaying a lovely image for each month while promoting all the local businesses which are members of the CBA.

It is sponsored by 12 local business’s and the photos are supplied by local photographers. The calendar is produced by Castletown Press. This is another community project and the feedback is brilliant from the public. Thanks to all involved and let us keep supporting local business.

Celbridge Christmas Card 2014

IMG_0182I am delighted to be involved by sponsoring this excellent project for Celbridge. Selling the Celbridge Christmas Card is a great way of raising money for the Celbridge Tidy Towns. It provides local Residents with the option of sending a “lovely card” to a loved one at Christmas that may not be able to travel home.

This is the third year that we have done the Celbridge Christmas Card and it has been a great success. The money made is invested in local projects which can be seen by the local communities. I want to thank Breda for her hard work on this project and for making it the success it is.

The card can be bought in the Celbridge local shops for 1.00 euro each.

Thanks to you all for your support.

Celbridge Playground Upgraded

016

I am delighted to see the playground at Willowbrook in Celbridge getting the required investment from Kildare County Council. I have been working on this for some time in an effort to have the equipment repaired and replaced as required. The equipment is all now in place and operating correctly. The soft base has also been fully repaired with two benches in place so the adults can sit and watch while the children play.

The playground looks great and thanks to the Council for working with me on this issue which is so important for so many families. Thanks to Tony McCarthy the TUS worker for doing a great job on care-taking. Let’s continue working together in order to protect this investment.

Business Watch is being set up as a pilot project in Celbridge by the local Garda and the C.B.A.
This is an excellent initiative to assist and support all Celbridge Business’s in dealing with crime. The focus is all working together to prevent crime taking place which has a devastating impact.

There was an excellent presentation given to the Business’s by Inspector Paul Dolan on Business Watch which was organised by the C.B.A. Feedback from this event has been very positive indeed.
